| I Just Died A Little |
[Aug. 30th, 2006|09:28 pm] |
Not many things make me jump up and scream at the television. But I came across perhaps the most disturbing advert I have seen in years.
Now Barbie has her very own best friend, Tanner! Tanner is soft and fuzzy, and his mouth, ears, head and tail really move just like a real dog. Tanner comes with a dog bone and chew toys, and you can open his mouth to feed him dog biscuits. When Tanner has to go to the bathroom, Barbie cleans up with her special magnetic scooper and trash can.
Now baby dolls that double as water pistols I can just about take. But come on a magnetic scooper?
This advert litteraly sees the smiling girls make this dog crap on the floor, then manipulate Barbie to magic magnet that turd.
I'm scared ... and I want one ... for research purposes. |

| Haunted By My Childhood |

Holy Crap. The rumours are true. Pogs are back. ... and they've gone ... ghetto?
Yeah, check out the new line of pogs they're releasing. If that reflects the market of today, we'll all have been shot to death by gangs before the year is out. Give me a bit of Classic Pogman ... rather than alloy wheel designs.
... And I think Tatsuya Ishida could have some words about this one.
So yeah, I think the initial buyers of these will be 17 - 21 year olds saying "oooo Pogs" and then the kiddie craze will follow.
These things seem to come full circle, but I dunno whether Pogs will reach the dizzy heights of years gone by, but then again I'm sure YoYos are on the horizon waiting to return in a sea of tangled hands and black eyes. |

| iPod Comics and Such |
[Jan. 6th, 2006|10:51 am] |
So apparently the big news in the land of webcomics is that you can now get them on your iPod. This is pretty cool. Unfortunately i don't have the pleasure of owning an iPod Nano or Video.
Its certainly a step in the right direction. Anything that makes webcomics more accessable and portable has to be a good thing.
Ali wants me to tell you all about the fact you can download all the latest episodes or HOUSD, as well as the complete Sin City Saga storyline, which apparently looks great on screen.
The system's a bit clunky at the moment, but i hear there are intentions to have a system kinda like Podcasts on iTunes, where it searcbes downloads the comics you haven't got yet or something like that.
So now you can show, share and ... sh-love all your favourite comics ... especially HOUSD, because then you can show a little version of me around.
(Oh and here's a tip for saving time. click on the Name title bar at the top, to get the latest comics first). |

Renaissance of Post Modernism aside, it annoyed the piss out of me.
So he lost his body privileges. |

| News From The Underground |

this could be good.
So. nothing much to report back. Mum was clearing out the attic the other day, and found my old furby. Now before you start jumping to any conclusions, it was a christmas present and was apparently too expensive to throw way.
So i figure with the Reneissance of Post Modernism, i should embrace irony and enjoy this fabled creature.
Of course i had to modify it slightly. |
